DakshinaChitra.............a must visit for all Interior Designers

DakshinaChitra is a center for the living traditions of art, folk performing arts, craft and architecture of India with an emphasis on the traditions of South India. DakshinaChitra is a project of the Madras Craft Foundation (MCF), a non-profit organisation. DakshinaChitra opened to the public in December 1996. The center occupies ten undulating acres overlooking the Bay of Bengal, at Muttukadu, twenty five kilometers south of Chennai, on the East Coast Road towards Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu. Please read more about DakshinaChitra here.
The whole place is divided majorly into four sections and showcases the traditional art, folk, interiors and architecture of the prominent cultures of Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka & Andhrapradesh (Primary states of South India). What you will see in this post are some glimpses of the Tamilnadu section. I would definitely love to go there again. I recommend this as a must visit for all art lovers and interior designers like me.

Wait for more pictures on DakshinaChitra in my forthcoming posts................ !!!!
