As a designer I feel that, one has keep re-inventing different things to give a new feel to their home. Ofcourse, If you have to buy a new furniture or a deco article.....then it would turn out expensive. But why not try with the same stuff arranged in a different manner....While I was pondering on this, I decided to simply re-arrange a few of my corners. The same accessories with a different combination. Amazingly, it definitely gives a different feel to the whole setting. I suggest that all of us should try this. Are you getting bored sitting on the same couch facing the same direction..........then simply re-arrange your furniture alongwith your accessories....believe me....the feel is totally different....
 Terracotta.....
Terracotta.......is always and will always be in trend. One can use this to instantly add colour and texture to a neutral setting. On the other hand.... one can use this to subtle the effect in a bold colour scheme.

The same terracotta pot in a different setting......

I simply love these traditional diyas which I light daily..... what I have attempted to show here is that these can be used for a traditional setting with some idols or can be combined with terracotta for a casual setting. The traditional diyas represent Jaya and Vijaya who are the gatekeepers or the dwarapalakas of Vishnu..... To know more about this, please follow this link.......http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaya-Vijaya

On a festive day, I would love to use the new chair (please see post title... A makeover....) to set up one corner and display the idols.

A simple corner makeover in a complementary colour scheme. Instead of keeping the same things on a wooden or a glass table, add colour to it using some fabric/leather of your choice. Try to colour co-ordinate it using analogous colours or if you are feeling vibrant then try a complementary colour scheme like here....red and green......
This is a new baby krishna idol that was gifted to me. Brass or golden figures look best on black velvet background....This is a beautiful wooden box made with glass painting of RadhaKrishna. I use this in the pooja area to store all the necessities.

The same can be used as a center table deco article. Serves as a paper weight.......or to store some milk coupons.....
Colour...........Colour...............and more Colour..........

Silver idols look good with a dashing pink or a parrot green background......
